Review: Grapefruit Mint Aftershave Gel

This is an amazing, high quality product that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in doing the right thing regarding taking care of their face. In addition to shaving, I spend a lot of time in the elements and as a result, my face tends to dry out and I get red spotches on my cheeks. In a week's time this aftershave gel has evened out the tone of my skin more effectively than other very high priced products such as the Neutrogena for Men line.
The smell is not unpleasant, but it is strong and gives me the impression that this product will be effective. Some days it has a stronger spearmint smell which I like and other times it has a strong grapefruit/citrus scent that comes across as being a little bitter. What I find interesting is that the the combination of these two ingredients creates a scent that is not constant from one application to the next.
This product is extremely efective at preventing razor burn and seems to sense the overall rawness of the skin and adjust accordingly. On those days where I spent a lot of the previous day in the elements or the swimming pool, the product seemed to work harder. In contrast, on those days where I spend most of my time in my office, the product appeared to be less reactive. What I feel is an increase in circulation and then for about 45 minutes, it feels as if my face is getting a gentle message. It is very enjoyable.
Moisturizing: this is the first product that has not only moisturized the face but kept it hydrated throughout the day. It's ingredient base seems to work well with my body chemistry.
Feel -- the bottomline is a long lasting feeling of comfort. On days where my skin is more raw, the product seems to feel a little sticky/tacky at first, but within 5 minutes that sensation goes away and it feels like you have babied your skin.
Very good value for the price as it is roughly half the cost for a less effective Neutrogenia for Men product. What I did notice was that the shipping costs on the Ginger's Garden website were a little pricey so that would make me want to put in a bigger order rather than a few smaller orders.
The bottom line is that this product is one of the best I've run across in a while and plan to keep using it.

My Girlfriend and her teenage daughter did not like the smell. It was too minty for me also.

The scent of this product is fantastic. Very pleasing to both sexes. Additionally, it did keep my head feeling smoother to the touch. Other than that I did not like this product. It made my skin feel tight and almost numb. Very unpleasant.

This is without a doubt an absolute winner of a product. Since I have used this product I have not encountered no razor burn and very little (if any) alcohol burn. Even with a nick once in a great while, the alcohol burn is still minimal. As for moisturizing, this after shave is really good. It doesn't leave an oily feel, but a nice clean smooth feel. It is refreshing. The aroma of this after shave is a little different at first for a man, or at least what we are use to. It is a mild scent that and is quite easy to adapt to if you like a mint scent. I have injoyed wearing this after shave and my wife even gives it the thumbs up. Price wise, it is comparible to other aftershaves. A very nice after shave at a decent price. Two Thumbs Ups!

I honestly wasn't expecting much when I got this to try out. I mean, I've tried so many different products that I didn't think anything would really stand out anymore.
Well, I was wrong. This is a pretty cool product and I enjoyed using it for a week.
When I applied it the first thing I noticed was no bad sting, and an immediate warm feeling followed by a powerful spearmint scent (reminds me of Wrigley's Spearmint Gum). Once all my senses regrouped I noticed the calming effect and it began cooling my skin.
I have pretty tempermental skin and this product didn't cause any adverse reactions other than stimulating my senses over and over.
As far as the tightening of the skin, I experienced that as well but I look at that as a positive since it's a result of pores closing, which means the perfect end to a good shave.
Recommended!

The smell was a little too much like the toothpaste I use, my wife and daughters all commented on it, not overpowering but just lingered a bit too much for them and me... the new puppy thought I was very lickable though...
Otherwise I like how well it keeps the razorburn from appearing if I shave a little too often (usually once every 2 - 3 days) moisturizing is always a plus this time of year as I work in a shop with radiant heat in the ceiling. The only real problem as far as feel is that if you don't rub in the lotion fully it leaves a flaky residue, (the puppy thought it was a flavor burst :) )

I was curious to review this product; it sounded interesting.
It is not much different than the shaving gel i created myself. It is not quite and thick and sticky as mine though.
The smell is nice and the feel is pretty good. I do not think there is a lot of protection in the product, but it does make your feel nice and smooth; and it smells just like it says it does.
I think the price might be a bit steep, but it lasts a good while.
This would be a great product to use in a high humid climate; or in the summer.

SMELL: I loved the smell of this product. The smell of grapefruit in the morning after shaving was wonderful.
Prevents Razor Burn: I loved the feel of my skin after using this product. My face felt so smooth and no razor burn.
Moisturizing: Like i said before, this product was great on my skin. My wife and kids just loved the feel of my face. My face felt hydrated.
Price: I think the price was right for the value you get. I am a bit of a tight wad however, I would buy this product.
