| just read how andre agassi was so worried about his hair loss and wearing a wig because of it,that he lost a grand slam final.how sad it is that he felt that way but good that he seems so at ease with being bald these days.it just goes to show how important it is to accept and then embrace it as soon as you are able.i know what a relief it is when you do. it's so good that there are places like this that can help people stop feeling like he did. |

His wife at the time, the lovely Brooke Shields gave him an ultimatum, loose the piece or loose me. He lost both, but eventually gained an even more successful career, a new wife, Stephie Graff and family.
I actually wish this place was around when I started thinning on the top. Back in the "Ice Age" (the big hair 80's), bald on a young guy just wasn't very accepting. Andre Agassi was one of the pioneers that made shaving bald, very cool. Thanks AA |

| while looking for the a.agassi story the other day i came across another site .i couldn't beleive the negative attitude they had in sharp contrast to our own.all they seemed to talk about were the treatments they had tried, which obviously had not worked and what they were going to do next.if they were being honest with themselves they would admit that they know they are fighting a losing battle and they will be slaves to these treatments for the rest of their lives.i don't know about anybody else but i know which place i'd rather be. |

Hard to believe anyone at the top of their game (whatever their career), with a beautiful wife, and bags of money, could be so unhappy. Sure, the first stages of balding are a little rough, but man...we all got through it, and in some cases ARE getting through it. I'm really shocked by his admission of doing meth. Nasty, nasty drug, and he sure doesn't seem like the type. _________________

Money and fame can make you do weird things you would not normally do, though.
Do you think we should send Andre an invitation email to come over and join The Brotherhood? _________________ - Rich G.

The culture in today's society of physical appearance = acceptance can really mess up the mind, and in some arenas, shaving the head doesn't fit in. So many shows and media that focus on physical appearance (ie Nip/Tuck) sometimes tip the balance of what is important to some. What is nice about society today is that scale is balancing big time with folks like Agassi, Willis, Zane, Duaghtry, so many more. It really comes down to what influences an individual will allow control of the decisions they make. No doubt have to lock down on what's inside first, then everything else falls into place...
When people hit rough/desperate times, superficial things like physical appearance are at the bottom of the pecking order when embracing their support network...what resides "inside" makes us who we truely are--the master key to our self-applied locks.
