Ok this may be simple but...Here is a question for those of you that use or have used headshed and or headwash. After shaving and showering I end up with some dead skin on my dome. I know the headshed will clear it up but will the headwash keep it from coming back? Do I need to use both? _________________ Headblader for life!

You can't eliminate dead skin completely. It's just part of life...you grow new skin, the old skin has to go. I wonder if you're seeing dry skin issues. I have to start watching that now that furnace weather is here. You may want to try a moisturizing lotion of some kind. _________________

That is exactly it. I use my shower puff to really scrub my head. That takes care of the current skin flakes. Then I use a good moisturizer and that settles the rest of the flaking skin issues. _________________

I don't use HeadShed or HeadWash, but I do have that dead skin issue on my head after shaving/showering sometimes. I just go over my head with a wet terry cloth washcloth to remove it. _________________ - Rich G.

You could make a mild sugar scrub with jojoba (or fractionated coconut oil) and simple table sugar. 1 tsp. of oil with 1 tsp. of sugar should be enough for the whole head. _________________ Irena

RB, I think you are right. Once the cooler weather came in that's when I started having the issue.
BH, I am going to use my shower puff and scrub my head see if that helps.
Rich_G, The funny thing is it appears right after I towel dry my head. I use a damp towel on my head then apply headlube and the problem goes away.
SB, I am not the concoction kind of guy but one night when the wife is at work I will try that. I can just see my dogs waking me up from licking my head. _________________ Headblader for life!

You just have to make sure to rinse, so the dogs don't do it for you. _________________ Irena

Well, it would be a spit-shine of sorts... _________________ - Rich G.

I have never used the products that you mentioned in the original post, but a good rub with a cloth or towl after shaving and then moisturising should help. _________________ Growing old is compulsory. Growing up is entirely optional. |

| I use head shed a couple of times a week when the flakes start showing up. I also splash some which hazel on my head after every shave and brings on a high shine but in the cooler months I use my daughters moisturizing lotion to prevent dry skin. Go easy on the head shed because too much scrubbing can damage the skin and bring you back to square one with the flaking thing. |

I had the flakes for the first few days I started shaving. It was really bad and ended up having to wear a hat for those few days until a female friend at work suggested that I exfoliate before I shave my head.
So the next morning while getting ready for work I used one that had sand in it with moisturizer set it sit for a while after scrubbing gently. Then after I shaved I just had a super glossy scalp. After the first couple weeks I started to cut back on it and never have flakes anymore. |
